According to villagers in Lubero nearby Buleusa and Miliki, several hutu families were decimated yesterday, while others had to flee the area, all this happened in Bukumbirwa. Several witnesses have confirmed that the killers were part of local Congolese tribal militias that were paid of by agents of the Kigali government, with the support from some Congolese local officials. One of the villagers was quoted saying: “It is now normal to kill a hutu, since those who do it don’t suffer any consequence.” This comes following an incident which took place the day before yesterday,January 23,2016, when a hutu man was killed by a group of Bakobo tribesmen, accusing him of having spoken kinyarwanda. This happened in Miliki and some radio stations in the area reported the incident, and yet the perpetrators are still roaming free. We were told that they simply were told not to do it again by Congolese officials. Most of the witnesses we talked to state that those who are killing hutus in the area tell them that they should go back home to Rwanda even when they are addressing native hutu Congolese. This is an indication that Kabila and Kagames plan to incite another tribal conflict to provide a pretext for another Rwandese Military intervention in Eastern DRC is well under way, while the UN which has thousands of troops in the region stands idle.
