Reports of yet an other large scale massacres of Congolese Hutu civilians by Nande militiamen who seem to be carrying out the orders North Kivu Governor Julien Paluku have emerged. Last night a mob of Nande tribesmen attacked the locolity of Gatobo, killing 18 hutu civilians and leaving several others wounded. Masses of Congolese Hutu are continuing to flee from Kilumba, Kanyabayonga and Butembo. The few Hutus who run towards an area controlled by FARDC were quickly attacked while FARDC stood by. Some of the refugees managed to rich areas controlled by Monusco.

The day before yesterday, the same militiamen attacked a hillside facing Kanyabayonga transit camp which houses former freedom fighters and their families, killing several people and setting scores of houses on fire. Only one hutu mother and her two children managed to seek refuge inside the transit camp. Sources in Eastern Congo indicate that the situation has gotten so catastrophic, and keep wondering why the international media is keeping these events quiet, while the local Radio stations keep reporting this incidents in a manner that praises the assailants while demonizing the victims.
